Rachel Maddow has said Rick Santorum's
and Michele Bachmann's attacks on the gay community make them look
ridiculous.
The 38-year-old Maddow appeared
Wednesday on Sirius XM's The Howard Stern Show to pitch
her new book Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power.
Maddow, the host of MSNBC's The
Rachel Maddow Show, refused to answer when host Howard Stern
asked her whether she had ever had “insertion from a man.”
“I'm never going to tell you that,”
Maddow answered with a laugh.
“But you never tried it, I feel,”
Stern said. “A lesbian who has never had a man is called …
You're a gold star lesbian.”
“I love it that you're just intuiting
this. Like you're just getting this from my vibe.”
“I am,” Stern replied. “I feel
you're pure.”
Later Stern asked: “Doesn't it anger
you when you see guys like Rick Santorum so happy to bash gays and
gay marriage, talk about how they're sinning? In this day and age,
don't you find this remarkable that this asshole is running around
the country encouraging people to feel shitty about themselves, and
Michele Bachmann is running around with her husband saying, 'We've
got to convert gay people.'”
“The comfort that I take in that is
that they look ridiculous,” Maddow answered. “They really look
like … they look like a living embarrassing artifact of a way that
people used to think.”
