A new ad by clothing retailer
Abercrombie & Fitch features young, half naked male wrestlers
posing provocatively in a hot shower.
The 90-second video spot begins with a
shout from James Brown and the caption “Other sports require one
ball. Wrestling requires two.” Young men photographed in black &
white are seen first on the wrestling mat and then showering.
According to The
Huffington Post, the video was shot by famed photographer
Bruce Weber. It is one of four “Webersodes” located on the
artist's official website.
In reporting the story, The
Huffington Post wrote that “Abercrombie & Fitch is globally
renowned for using homoerotic imagery to promote its sporty apparel,”
then added that the retailer “is going an extra step.”
In the video's final frames, one of the
wrestlers kisses another on the forehead as he leans up against a
mirror, which, when compared to some of the imagery used in the
