Former N'Syncer Lance Bass, who was forced to reveal that he's gay in 2006, has called the outing “tacky.”

The 32-year-old Bass acknowledged the rumors of his sexuality in a People magazine cover story.

During an appearance on cabler OWN's The Rosie Show, Bass said that Perez Hilton gets the credit for outing him “because he had the biggest site at the time.”

“There's always been rumbles and I knew that. And I knew at some point I was going to be able to publicly admit it. Even though I didn't think it was anyone's business. But, unfortunately, that's just the world we live in, you have to admit it.”

“My family didn't know. So, of course, I wanted to come out to my family first, before I came out to the world. It went out of hand a little bit because it went a lot faster than I wanted it to go.”

Bass added that he experienced panic over the rumors.

I did. There's been so much written about me in all kinds of different magazines that were not true that I didn't think that anyone would really believe it. But, people really started hounding on me and trying to catch me and my boyfriend [the A-List's Reichen Lehmkuhl] together. And I was living with my boyfriend. We were in love and so we were publicly going to places, and I wasn't hiding it to my friends and family. So, I knew eventually it was going to happen, but I think the way that they did it was really tacky.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
