NCIS co-star Pauley Perrette
won't marry fiance Thomas Arklie until Proposition 8, California's
gay marriage ban, is gone.
“Me & #MyMarine are totally
engaged now but will NOT GET MARRIED UNTIL #Prop 8 is OVER,” she
messaged to her more than 200,000 Twitter followers.
“We're NOT getting married because
#Prop 8 is unjust. But having blast being engaged. He re-asks me
everyday & I say YES :)” she added on Monday.
The 41-year-old Perrette also tweeted a
photo of herself with Arklie, a former British marine.
Perrette is a staunch supporter of gay
rights.
In
January, she attended the People's Choice Awards wearing a
strapless dress that featured the NOH8 Campaign's logo on a white
background. The NOH8 Campaign, which is best known for raising funds
and awareness to defeat Proposition 8, photographs celebrities and
everyday folks with their mouths duct taped and the campaign's
familiar “NOH8” slogan often written on one cheek.
Perrette was also among the celebrities
participating in this year's AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
