Sara Gilbert, a co-host of CBS' The
Talk, discussed her new girlfriend Linda Perry on the show's
Wednesday episode.
Gilbert, 36, recently ended her 10-year
relationship with Glee writer Allison Adler. The two women
share custody of six-year-old son Levi and four-year-old daughter
Sawyer.
As the show's co-hosts were discussing
celebrity and privacy, Gilbert said she was hesitant to join the The
Talk as a co-host because of how it might impact her private
life.
“I knew as soon as I started to do
that [play co-host] I would be talking about my personal life a
little bit more,” Gilbert said. “So I struggled with that.”
She went on to describe how paparazzi
surprised her on a Sunday morning.
“The other day, you know, I was just
out and paparazzi were there and I was ... it was Sunday morning, and
I wasn't really prepared, and then there's all these articles out
that I'm in a new relationship.”
Gilbert added she wished she could have
decided when and how to discuss her love life.
“I kinda would rather do it on my
terms. I guess then, when I'm in full hair and makeup.”
