Jane Lynch's Sunday night opening for
the Primetime Emmy Awards includes the Glee star hitting on
Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss.
In the musical opening, Leonard Nimoy
tells Lynch that he is convinced she is the “logical choice” to
host the Emmys this year, then warns her against letting the audience
know that “we all live in this one building.”
Ignoring the warning, Lynch races
through the building dropping in on television shows.
On the set of cabler AMC's Mad Men
(winner of Outstanding Drama Series), she is asked to fetch some
coffee.
“You're hilarious,” she tells Don
Draper (played by Jon Hamm). “I'm not a secretary. I'm the host
of the Emmys.”
“The Emmys?” Pete Campbell (Vincent
Kartheiser) scoffs. “What you should be doing is learning how to
type and firing the guy who gave you that man's haircut.”
“Well, a lot has changed since 1965.
In fact, women can marry other women,” Lynch responds. Turning to
Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) she adds with a wink and a smile: “Hey,
Peggy.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page.)
