Fox News commentator Glenn Beck has
called the Fox musical-comedy Glee “a horror show” after
broadcast of its Lady Gaga Born This Way episode.
Tuesday's edition of the runaway hit
show brought several gay storylines to the forefront.
But unlike other conservatives who
pointedly railed against the show's gay inclusiveness – Dan
Gainor called it creator “Ryan Murphy's latest depraved initiative
to promote his gay agenda” – Beck's criticism was more
difficult to grasp, in part because he first fawns all over the show.
“I don't know if you've ever seen the
TV show Glee, but this show stands out and stands for
almost every value that I have,” Beck told viewers of Fox News'
Glenn Beck. “I've seen this show twice this year and I've
watched it in stunned horror combined with a sense of admiring awe.
It is a brilliant, brilliant show. Very well done. But it is a
horror show.”
Beck then plays a clip from the show in
which the cast sings a cover of My Chemical Romance's
anti-corporate greed anthem Sing.
“It goes on and it is brilliant,
brilliant,” Beck tells his audience. “I looked at my wife and I
said, 'There is no way to beat this. There is no way to beat this.'”
He then suggested that parents should
