Figure skater John G. “Johnny” Weir
did a bit more than judging on Monday's episode of RuPaul's Drag
Race.
The three-time U.S. National Figure
Skating champion took a break from promoting his 272-page tell-all
memoir Welcome to my World to guest judge on cabler Logo's
drag reality series, now in its third season.
In Life, Liberty & the Pursuit
of Style, Weir was joined by fashion model Cheryl Tiegs at the
judging table.
In judging 30-year-old Alexis Mateo,
who rocked the episode's patriotic challenge by wearing a military
coat over a light blue skirt, Weir said: “I love a queen in
uniform.”
He was less complimentary about Raja's
patriotic PSA, which he compared to a “wet dead fish.”
With only six contestants left fighting
to become America's next superstar drag queen, RuPaul ordered Carmen
Carrera and Yara Sofia to lip sync for their lives.
As the queens lip synced to the Spanish
version of Toni Basil's Oh Mickey, You're So Fine, Carrera,
dressed in a patriotic red, white and blue 50's inspired evening
gown, sashayed up to Weir to deliver a smooch.
In the end, RuPaul decided to keep both
contestants for another round.
