Chris Colfer says his gay teen
character on the Fox musical-comedy Glee is in love with
Darren Criss' Blaine Anderson, but that Blaine doesn't have the same
feelings.
Colfer's Kurt Hummel and Blaine are now
singing in the same glee club after Kurt fled McKinley High because
officials decided against disciplining bully Dave Karofsky, played by
Max Adler, a closeted gay teen.
Glee ringmaster Ryan Murphy has
promised romance this season for the troubled Kurt, but so far the
show has only hinted at where that might be found.
“Kurt's in love with Blaine but it's
not reciprocated,” Colfer told PEOPLE at the Fox Television Critics
Association party. “But we're working on it. Seriously, he needs
a romantic payoff.”
In an interview with E! Online,
Criss was equally vague.
“There's going to be some fun
things,” Criss said. “Every day Chris and I are both equally
curious to see what's going to happen between the two of those guys.
We're definitely going to start seeing some layers to the two of
them. The pink elephant in the room will finally be addressed, let's
put it that way.”
Which leaves everyone wondering about
the much hyped February 8 Valentine's Day episode, which, according
to TV Guide's William Keck, will
include Kurt and Blaine crooning to Robin Thicke's When I Get You
Alone “outside a Gap store as Blaine prepares to profess his
love.”
Keck says a profession of love, Criss
says the pink elephant will be addressed, and Colfer says Blaine
isn't reciprocating the love. Sounds like a recipe for heartbreak.
