Gay dad Neil Patrick Harris passed on
lesbian mom Sara Gilbert's parenting advice.
In an appearance on ABC's The Talk,
the Emmy-winning actor told his female hosts that he declined to take
Gilbert's “weird advice.”
“You're crazy granola person,”
Harris replied when Gilbert asked if he had taken any of her
parenting advice. “You have like the weirdest advice ever.”
Harris and celebrity chef David Burtka
entered a domestic partnership in 2004. On
October 12, the pair welcomed twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace,
who were born via a surrogate.
Harris, the star of CBS' How I Met
Your Mother, also joked that the couple is ready to drug the
crying babies: “At this point, we are like whatever it takes – a
shot of whiskey, whatever – just stop fussing.”
And he also admitted to feeling more
like a caregiver than a father.
“Everyone said, 'When you see them,
you're going to look into their eyes, and you'll never feel love
burst forth like you feel when …', and I'm like, 'Not so much.'”
