It's a girl and a boy for gay dads Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka.

Openly gay actor Harris tweeted the good news to his nearly 1 million followers on Friday: “Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold.”

“All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey,” he added.

The Associated Press is reporting that Harris' publicist has confirmed the news.

In August, the 37-year-old actor used the same medium to announce that the couple was expecting twins via surrogate in the fall. Harris and celebrity chef Burtka entered a domestic partnership in 2004.

Harris is the leading man of the CBS comedy hit How I Met Met Your Mother. In the situation comedy he plays heterosexual sex hound Barney. He won an Emmy Award this year for a guest spot on Fox's musical-comedy hit Glee and shared another for hosting the Tony Awards.

Four years ago, after much prodding from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Harris announced he's gay. He said he's known about his sexuality since he was fourteen.
