The 2 gay people killed during an
attack on a gay club in Tel Aviv were laid to rest Sunday.
YnetNews.com is reporting that Nir
Katz, the 26-year-old gay center counselor, was laid to rest in
Modi'in, while 16-year-old Liz Trubeshi was buried at a cemetery in
Holon.
The two died when a masked, lone gunman
stormed the Tel Aviv Gay and Lesbian Association building and sprayed
automatic fire in a basement room as a support group for gay teens
assembled. Eleven people were wounded in the attack, four seriously.

“We love you very much. You were
always our princess. I can't say goodbye,” Trubeshi's brother
Eitan said during his eulogy. “Mom woke me up last night, but I
told her everything was alright. I never told you how much I love
you.”
Classmates said Trubeshi never spoke of
her sexual orientation.
Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who
was among the hundreds attending the service, said: “My daughter is
Liz's age, and it hurts to think that a girl leaves her home and
never returns.”
A rainbow flag was spread over the
grave of Nir Katz. “Our family stands behind the gay community,”
Katz's sister Chen said as she laid the flag.
“We must wave the pride flag and show
what empty hatred can lead to,” she added.
“It is important that we remember you
tried to help confused teens become better people – not like that
vile murderer,” Michael, described as a family friend, told
mourners.
Katz leaves behind a partner of four
years.
