Comedy series Grace And Frankie
starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will have a second season on
Netflix.
According to Deadline.com,
season 2 will debut in 2016.
Series co-creator Marta Kauffman
announced the pickup during an FYC panel at L.A.'s Pacific Design
Center.
“Let me say, it's so awesome to do a
show on Netflix,”Kauffman said, “because two and a half weeks after
we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call
and say, 'We'd like to do a season 2.' So yes, there is a season 2.
We have Ted (Sarandos) and Miley to thank.”
In Grace And Frankie,
adversaries Grace (played by Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin) are
unexpectedly brought together when their husbands announce that they
are gay and getting hitched to each other. Martin Sheen (The West
Wing) plays Robert, Fonda's husband, while Sam Waterston (Law
and Order) plays Sol, Tomlin's husband.
