Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Lambert and Lance
Bass were among the celebrities wishing Twitter followers a happy
Fourth of July.
The 56-year-old DeGeneres, the only
openly LGBT person ranked in the top ten on Forbes magazine's 15th
annual Celebrity 100 list, tweeted an Independence Day quip to her
nearly 30 million followers.
“My tongue is red, white and blue
because I was eating a Papa Smurf popsicle,” she messaged on
Friday.
“Here's to the freedom and equality
at the core of who we all are,” out actor Robert Gant (Queer as
Folk) tweeted. “May our laws and lives continue to reflect and
uphold that great Truth.”
Out singer Adam Lambert kept it simple:
“Happy Independence Day!”
“Let the weekend begin!! Happy
#4thofJuly ALL!!” The Weather Channel's Sam Champion messaged.
Former 'Nsyncer Lance Bass tweeted a
photo of himself, fiance Michael Turchin and Celine Dion along with
the caption: “So this happened … happy fourth!!!”
