Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans
For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), has described Robin Roberts'
coming out as a “tragedy.”
On Sunday, the 53-year-old Roberts, a
co-host of ABC's Good Morning America, publicly acknowledged
for the first time that she is in a relationship with girlfriend
Amber Laign.
“I am grateful for my entire family,
my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to
celebrate a glorious new year together,” Roberts wrote in a
Facebook post.
First Lady Michelle Obama was among
those who congratulated Roberts.

“I think every coming out is a
tragedy,” LaBarbera
said during an interview with Vic Eliason of VCY America. “Every
time a person comes out openly as a homosexual, it's an extra step of
defiance, of advocacy. And how sad that our First Lady and the White
House in general and President Obama as well all celebrate
homosexuality.”
LaBarbera called the marriage equality
movement “evil,” saying that “the homosexual so-called marriage
movement has become a huge platform to corrupt children.”
Later in the program, LaBarbera
described the transgender community as Satanic.
“Transgender advocacy are people who
believe that their biological sex, male or female, doesn't match what
they feel. I'll tell you what Vic, Satan really works through
feelings, doesn't he?” LaBarbera said.
“You know, Peter, years and years ago
the old fashioned circus used to have a display in some kind of a
cage or a display factor that had a 'bearded lady' as a freak,”
Eliason said. “Today we don't even have to worry about that, it
will be happening in your department stores, it will be happening in
the public school, the issue of cross-dressers and transvestites and
all of this type of thing certainly is what you're talking about.”
