Lesbian couple Whitney Mixter and Sada
Bettencourt return to reality television next month in VH1's Couples
Therapy.
The women's sometimes rocky
relationship was on full view for three seasons on Showtime's The
Real L Word.
The show ended on a high note for the
couple. In Perfect Day, broadcast last year, Whitney and Sada
married.
In a recent interview with GO
Magazine, Sada said that the show put a “huge strain” on
their relationship.
“I think it put a huge strain on our
relationship because I didn’t want to be vulnerable on camera, and
we couldn’t get to the point where we needed to be to move forward
in our relationship. I had an enormous wall up. People were trying to
keep us apart. It felt like us against the world. So, I think it took
us longer to get where we would have eventually. Whitney is my
soulmate, and I know that we would have ended up together, no matter
what. Because of everything that we’ve been through, I think we can
go through anything and make it,” Sada said.
In
a promo for the new season of Couples Therapy, Dr. Jenn
Berman is seen telling the women: “It would be such a fucking shame
for you guys to lose this relationship, because if you keep going the
