Amazon employees have reached out to
troubled gay teens in an It Gets Better video.
The It Gets Better Project encourages
bullied LGBT teens considering suicide to hang in there, because life
eventually gets better.
“I knew I was gay when I was 9 years
old,” a female employee says in the 5-minute video. “And it
wasn't until I was 15 that I tried to search out an answer to what's
so different about me. Why do I fall in love with all my
girlfriends. … And I went through some pretty depressing times.”
“It was hard because I really didn't
know what it meant and I really had no one to look up to,” a male
employee who was born and raised in Mexico says. “I think actually
being gay has made me a stronger person.” (The video is embedded
in the right panel of this page. Visit

Amazon is the latest large corporation
to create such a video, joining Dreamworks,
Disney,
Intel,
Dell,
Google,
Microsoft
and Apple.
