Navy chaplain turned anti-gay activist
Gordon Klingenschmitt has criticized Newt Gingrich's recent shift on
gay marriage.
Gingrich, the former House Speaker and
a leading candidate for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination,
recently told The Huffington Post that he's prepared to accept
“a legal document issued by the state” for gay and lesbian
couples.
Gingrich added that momentum is on the
side of supporters and that he fears the issue could hurt the
Republican Party, whose official platform opposes the legalization of
marriage equality.

In an episode of Klingenschmitt's new
daily program, the former chaplain said Gingrich has altered his
position to “present himself as the left-wing, moderate Republican
candidate” for 2016.
“The Bible condemns him now because
he takes pleasure in those who do that sort of thing [homosexuality].
When the Bible condemns his endorsement of homosexual sin then he
has become one of the sinners condemned by Romans, Chapter 1,”
Klingenschmitt.
“What are the voices that are
whispering into Newt Gingrich's ear?”
“On one side is the spirit of God
saying, 'Newt stand for righteousness, traditional marriage.' On the
other side there's this voice that's tempting him, 'Oh you might be
able to get more votes on the Left if you pander to homosexual sin.'
So, he's discerning the spirits and he manifests the demonic voice by
saying, 'OK, it's not really a sin, we ought to endorse this.'”
