Tracey Gold, who played Kirk Cameron's
TV sister on the ABC sitcom Growing Pains, has confirmed to be
part of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD)
Media Awards in New York on March 24.
Gold tweeted last week that she
disagreed with Cameron on gay rights.
“I am a strong supporter of the #LGBT
Community, and I believe in equal rights for all,” Gold messaged.
During an appearance on CNN's Piers
Morgan Tonight, Cameron told host Piers Morgan that being gay is
“detrimental, and ultimately destructive” and that he would not
be supportive if one of his six sons told him he was gay.
While most of Hollywood disagreed with
Cameron, actor Stephen
Baldwin agreed, and at least two celebrities, The View's
Elisabeth
Hasselbeck and Cindy
McCain, defended Cameron's right to speak out on his beliefs.

At the GLAAD
Media Awards in New York, Gold will be joined by Vinny
Guadagnino, Ted Allen, Thomas Roberts, Ellen Barkin and Carson
Kressley, among others.
