Starbucks is being threatened with a
boycott over its support for gay marriage.
The coffee giant last week endorsed a
bill that would make Washington the seventh state to legalize such
unions. Starbucks is only one of more than 100 Washington-based
companies to support the proposed legislation.

Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian
Ministries on Tuesday called on Christians to abandon Starbucks.
“Christians are upset with Starbucks
for turning against God, but we are glad to know that Starbucks
doesn't pretend to be for Christians,” Andrew
said in a statement.
“This boycott is important because
God blesses those who obey Him and judges those who don't obey Him (2
Chronicles 19:2).”
Citing Leviticus 18:22, Andrew stated
that being gay is an “abomination,” but added that “Jesus loves
homosexuals.”
“I wish every person would receive
Jesus' forgiveness for sins by His blood,” Andrew said.
Thomas Peters, a frequent contributor
to CatholicVote.org and the National Organization for Marriage (NOM),
also encouraged his followers to give up Starbucks.
“Well, that's it,” he tweeted to
his more than 9,200 followers. “I'm not drinking Starbucks anymore
… it was making me go bankrupt anyway.”
On Wednesday, the
Washington Senate approved the gay marriage bill by a wider margin
than expected.
