CBS has ordered an extra season of Big
Brother to fill space left from the writer's strike – this time
with a big gay twist! The premise of Big Brother 9 remains,
houseguests compete to win a big cash prize while having their lives
broadcast 24/7. But 9 ads a dramatic twist: Unknown to the
contestants producers have paired the 16 contestants with a soul mate
which they will need to play the game with. Among the players we
find: Joshuah, 25, from Dallas, and Neil, 29, living in Los Angeles.
In KCAL, a Los Angeles CBS affiliate
station, video interviews both men admit to being rabid Big
Brother fans and gay. When asked what his character would be on
Big Brother 9 Neil answers, “the gay guy, of course.” In
his interview, Joshuah reveals he loves sports, the Dallas Cowboys,
and thinks being a soap actor would be “amazing”. He also admits
to liking guys.
Is CBS playing gay match maker? Big
Brother 9 premiers Tuesday February 12th on CBS.
Robert I. Douglas's gay soccer movie,
Eleven Men Out, will be available on DVD March 4th.
Comedy ensues after Iceland's top soccer star Ottar Thor reveals he
is gay in a magazine interview. After being rejected by his team
Ottar quickly sets up shop with his own gay soccer team. Much of the
film focuses on the reactions of teammates and family members to
Ottar's self-outing. The film ends with the obligatory soccer match
– on gay pride day!
The movie first screened at the Berlin
Film Festival in 2006 and has been touring since. Clips from the
