Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi say they're not looking to raise children.

“We thought about it,” DeGeneres writes in her recently-released memoir Seriously … I'm Kidding, excerpts of which were posted at GregInHollywood.com. “We love to be around children after they've been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don't want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house.”

DeGeneres, 53, the host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and de Rossi, 38, who is expected to reprise her role as Lindsay Bluth Funke in the upcoming series return and feature-length film of the early 2000's hit Arrested Development, married in 2008.

DeGeneres adds that the couple has plenty to look after: “We have two dogs, Mabel and Wolf, and three cats at home, Charlie, George and Chairman. We have two cats on our farm, Tom and Little Sister, two horses, and two mini horses, Hannah and Tricky. We also have two cows, Holy and Madonna. And those are only the animals we let sleep in our bed.”
