Cindy McCain, the wife of Arizona Senator John McCain, has reiterated her support for repeal of “Don't Ask, Don't Tell,” the 1993 law that ban gay and bisexual troops from serving openly.

Cindy McCain offers her support in a new video released Thursday for the NOH8 campaign.

Senator McCain is an ardent opponent of repeal. In September, he successfully led Republicans in blocking passage of a defense bill that included repeal language. He has pledged to filibuster the measure a second time if Majority Leader Harry Reid puts the bill up for a second vote during the lame-duck session of Congress that begins Monday.

McCain's office has confirmed reports that the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee is aggressively negotiating with the panel's chairman, Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, to strip out the repeal provisions in the measure.

In the video, which features a bevy of celebrities, Cindy McCain says that gay teens consider suicide because they are given second-class status by the government, including being told they cannot serve their country openly. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page.)
