It's time to remember my name again as Fame returns to the big screen this September, and the reinvention of the Oscar-winning film will include a gay character.

Fame follows a group of talented students at the New York City High School of Performing Arts. They are dancers, singers, actors and artists looking for their big break. With the recent popularity of dancing shows and movies, how could they resist?

Among the students craving the spotlight is the character of Kevin, played by Paul McGill.

We know little about Kevin's character other than he's a dancer that plays a pivotal role in the drama.

The real question surrounding Kevin is how will producers choose to incorporate his sexuality. The original film included tortured gay teen Montgomery played by Paul McCrane. Is Kevin destined to a similar fate 29 years later?

McGill, a Broadway veteran at 21, has appeared in the Broadway revivals of La Cage aux Folles and Chorus Line. Last year, he made his silver screen debut as the title character of Philippe Petit in the documentary hit Man on Wire.

Fame also stars Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullaly, Bebe Neuwirth, Asher Book and Kristy Flores, and opens September 25th.
