New York Representative Jerrold Nadler announced Monday he would introduce a new resolution in Congress that would address housing issues affecting HIV positive people.
Nadler is expected to unveil details of the resolution at a Tuesday news event in Washington D.C.
The resolution will call on the House of Representatives to address “the lack of adequate housing as a barrier to effective HIV prevention, treatment, and care, and commit to providing adequate funding and developing housing as a response the AIDS pandemic.”
Several AIDS advocates will join Nadler at the event including Nancy Bernstine, executive director of National AIDS Housing Coalition, and Ruthann Tucker of Ontario HIV/Treatment Network.
