Justin Trudeau, Canada's second youngest prime minister, marched in Sunday's LGBT Pride parade in Toronto, making him the first sitting prime minister to march in the parade.
“Proud. #PrideTO,” Trudeau tweeted to his more than 1.82 million followers along with a photomontage of himself waving a Canadian pride flag (a Canadian maple leaf on a field of rainbow colors) as he marched in the parade, giving a thumbs up to a group of people perched on a building rooftop, and shaking hands with revelers behind a metal barricade, one of whom is draped in a rainbow flag.
Earlier in the day, Trudeau attended an outdoor church service in the heart of Toronto's LGBT community.
According to The Star, Trudeau blew a kiss at a person holding a sign which read, “Trudeau, kiss me, it'll make my Twitter explode.”
The parade started with a tribute to the 49 people who died in last month's mass shooting in a gay nightclub. Marchers displayed the names and ages of the victims of the massacre.
