Actor Colton Haynes may be the first celebrity of 2016 to come out gay.

The 27-year-old Haynes is best known for his roles as Jackson Whittemore in MTV's Teen Wolf and Roy Harper/Arsenal in The CW's Arrow.

On Saturday, he responded to long-standing rumors about his sexuality on his official Tumblr blog.

“When I found out Colton Haynes had a secret gay past, I got so excited even though I know it makes absolutely no difference in my life,” a fan wrote.

“Was it a secret?” Haynes responded. “Let's all just enjoy life & have no regrets :)”

While Haynes has never publicly come out, his flirtations around the subject have made his sexuality a topic for debate. In March 2006, he posed for XY Magazine, a gay male youth-orientated magazine which ceased publication in 2007. A photo of himself and out Arrow co-star John Barrowman jokingly holding hands for the paparazzi in 2013 fanned those rumors.
