Justin Mikita, co-founder of Tie The Knot with actor husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson, has launched a men's bedding brand that helps families in need.
Mikita and Greg Shugar's (founder of The Tie Bar) Thread Experiment promises to donate a set of bedding to a shelter or family in need for every full set of bedding purchased.
Mikita and Ferguson (Modern Family) launched Tie The Knot in 2012. The company sells limited edition bow ties with profits benefiting organizations seeking to expand marriage rights for gay couples.
On Monday, Thread Experiment announced that its first philanthropic partner will be the Los Angeles LGBT Center, which runs a homeless shelter for LGBT youth.
According to a press release, 40 percent of homeless youth in Los Angeles identify as LGBT.
