Against Me!'s transgender singer-guitarist Laura Jane Grace is among those making gay glossy Out's Out 100 list.
Grace came out transgender in a 2012 Rolling Stone interview.
The title track of Against Me!'s latest studio album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, released on Grace's own label, Total Treble, takes a raw look at transphobia.
“You want them to see you; Like they see any other girl; They just see a faggot,” the song's chorus goes.
Speaking to Out for its upcoming double Out 100 issue, Grace said that rock 'n' roll is no stranger to pushing limits.
“I'm a rocker,” she said. “And rock 'n' roll has a long history of smashing gender roles and pushing the cultural limits.”
“That's what I want to represent,” Grace added.
