Tom Daley Says Public Support Of His Coming Out Has Been Overwhelming

Olympic diving champ Tom Daley recently said pubic support of his coming out has been overwhelming.

The 20-year-old Daley came out gay in a YouTube video released in March.

He made headlines with his love affair with Milk screenwriter and LGBT rights activist Dustin Lance Black.

Speaking to the BBC, Daley said that coming out lifted a “massive weight” off his shoulders.

“The public support has been overwhelming,” he said. “Right now, all I concentrate on is diving. … I don't have any other worries. I'm happy with life. I'm happy with diving.”

“If I spent my whole life worrying about what people thought, I wouldn't be a diver and I wouldn't be where I am today,” he added.

UK glossy Attitude recently named Daley the “Sexiest Man in the World.”
