Pennsylvania's Tom Corbett Mum On Gay Marriage Ruling

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, a Republican, kept mum Tuesday about a federal judge's ruling striking down the state's ban on gay marriage.
In ruling the state's restrictive marriage law unconstitutional, U.S. District Judge John E. Jones recommended that such laws be discarded “into the ash heap of history.”
As Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane celebrated the ruling – saying the Constitution had prevailed – Corbett kept mostly silent.

“The Governor is in the process of thoroughly reviewing the decision of the court, we anticipate having a statement available tomorrow,” a tweet from Corbett's office read.
Meanwhile, groups on both sides started lobbying the governor.
The ACLU, which is representing the plaintiffs in the case, launched a petition asking Corbett “to respect ALL Pennsylvania families by not appealing the judge's ruling.”
