Chick-fil-A's Dan Cathy recently said he'll leave the issue of gay marriage to politicians.
In the summer of 2012, Cathy created a firestorm of controversy for saying that marriage equality is “inviting God's judgment on our nation” and conceding that his company gave millions to anti-equality groups.
Fox News' Mike Huckabee organized a successful day of support for Chick-fil-A to counter pro-equality supporters protesting at Chick-fil-A locations. Last year, he criticized two rulings in support of marriage equality handed down by the Supreme Court.
In a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dan Cathy said he won't be weighing in on the subject anymore.
His decision prompted a backlash from social conservatives, who accused him of “selling out.”

In a USA Today story published Wednesday, Cathy reiterated his decision, saying: “All of us become more wise as time goes by. We sincerely care about people.”
“I'm going to leave it to politicians and others to discuss social issues,” he added.
