Ralph Reed, head of the Christian conservative Faith and Freedom Coalition, has called on Republicans to “stand your ground” and fight against gay marriage.

Reed told PolitiChicks that Republicans should back social issues because they “never go away.”

“So, if they're not going to go away, and if you're going to have to deal with them, why run from them?” Reed rhetorically asked.

“I mean, just plant your feet, stand and fight, and make it clear where you stand. And I think what people at the conservative grassroots are getting a little tired of is how come somebody like [Vice President] Joe Biden or [President] Barack Obama is proud enough of their stand on same-sex marriage that they'll say it on Meet the Press, or ask Robin Roberts to fly down from New York and get a special interview so that he [Obama] can advertise where he stands. But too many of our guys, they run for the tall grass even when the question comes up.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
