Two prominent anti-gay activists are joining forces to create a new coalition to “more effectively oppose the now-global LGBT agenda.”
Scott Lively of the Massachusetts-based Defend the Family International and Peter LaBarbera of the Illinois-based Americans for Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH) on Friday will hold a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington to announce formation of the Coalition for Family Values.
“The first action of the coalition will be to issue a statement of support for the Russian pro-family laws of 2013 and 2014 – e.g., the prohibition of pro-homosexual propaganda to minors – and to urge other nations of the world to follow the Russian example,” according to a press release.
Lively is best known for playing a key role in pushing for tough anti-gay legislation in Uganda. He is also the author of The Pink Swastika: Homosexuality in the Nazi Party, which attempts to draw parallels between the modern gay rights movement and Nazism, and calls gay rights dangerous.
