Robbie Rogers says he sees wedding bells in his future.

Rogers, 26, came out of retirement in May to become the U.S's first active openly gay male professional athlete. He received a loud ovation from the stands as he took the field in his Los Angeles Galaxy debut.

Rogers publicly came out gay and announced his retirement from professional soccer in an online post in February. At the time, he was playing for a UK team.

In a Google+ hangout hosted by The Trevor Project, Rogers was asked where he sees himself in the next 10 years.

“I don't even know where I see myself a year from now,” Rogers answered. “I never even imagined myself coming out to my family. And then coming out and playing in a sport like soccer.”

“I want to get married. I want to be in love. I want to just be happy. Be happy and be around my family. And see them and their relationships. Just be a part of my family's life where before I felt like I was a bit of zombie – I was there but I wasn't there emotionally.” (The video is embedded on this page.
