A new commercial for Microsoft Outlook.com includes a lesbian wedding.

The 30-second ad touts new social media features in the company's new email service, including automatic updates from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google, and video chatting with Facebook friends from Outlook.com's inbox.

When the two women get married in the ad, another woman's Outlook.com entry for Sarah Jones is automatically updated to Sarah Jones-Brown and her profile picture is replaced with a photograph of the couple from their wedding day.

“Saw the update,” the woman writes in an email to Sarah. “So happy for you both!” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

The commercial follows a recent Amazon ad for its Paperwhite Kindle which featured a married male couple.

Last year, both companies made large contributions to the effort to legalize marriage equality in their home state of Washington. Each has also said it opposes the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the 1996 law which prevents the federal government from recognizing the legal marriages of gay couples.
