Televangelist Pat Robertson on Tuesday condemned President Barack Obama's announcement in support of gay marriage, media watchdog RightWingWatch.org reported.

Following a The 700 Club segment about the president's recent shift from supporting civil unions to full marriage for gay couples, Robertson weighed in with his opinion.

“The bottom line is a male is equipped in a particular fashion and a female is equipped in a particular fashion and the union of the two brings forth children. The union of two men doesn't bring forth anything except disease, apparently, and suffering. And the same thing of the union of two women. It does not lead to procreation,” Robertson told his viewers.

“It's a holy union ordained of God,” he said of heterosexual marriage.

“And for these politicians to make it a political football, it makes you sick. Obama is a shameless panderer to special interests and this campaign is enough to make you sick to your stomach.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
