John Travolta's marriage is being mended by Kirstie Alley after the National Enquirer reported he hired a male prostitute.

Last month, Travolta was pictured on the tabloid's cover under the sensational headline, “John paid me to have sex: Shocking tell-all.”

According to the report, Travolta “offered hard cash” to a male massage therapist in exchange for sex.

“He tried to pay me for sex – it was very clear that John Travolta wanted me to perform a sexual act on him and that he would pay me to do it,” the unnamed source is quoted as saying.

After the therapist repeatedly refused Travolta's advances, the actor allegedly said: “The next time you see me at the movies or some awards, think about all the millions I'm going to make. … Think about what you could have had!”

And while a representative for Travolta has denied the allegations, the tabloid on Thursday rehashed the story, reporting that actress Kirstie Alley is counseling the couple.

“After the scandal broke, Kirstie dropped everything and assumed the role of Travoltas' marriage counselor,” an unnamed source is reported as saying.

“Kelly was furious with John after yet another cheating story made headlines,” the insider added. “Kirstie managed to calm Kelly down. She begged her not to make any hasty decisions because of their two children.”

In 2010, the National Enquirer promoted Robert Randolph and his book You'll Never Spa In This Town Again, which claims Travolta is involved in Los Angeles' “secret gay spa subculture.”
