CNN labeled Rick Santorum's momentum “Santoromentum” after he won Alabama and Mississippi on Tuesday, but late night chat host Jimmy Kimmel has given the term a new definition.
Kimmel, the host of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, discussed Santoromentum during his opening monologue.
“Last night CNN came up with a clever word for this, it's Santoromentum,” Kimmel told his audience with a chuckle. “I understand you're looking for a catchy way to say that Santorum is gaining momentum, but Santoromentum? It sounds like something you put under your nose or the name of a drug.”
“It turns out it is the name of a drug,” Kimmel added before playing a spoof commercial for Santoromentum.
In the ad, Santorum is seen gleefully agreeing with a male announcer's questions.
“Bothered by irregularity? Constipation? And explosive diarrhea? Santoromentum can help,” the announcer states.
The ad includes the following warning: “May cause sporadic homophobia, disbelief in evolution and sweater vests.”
“Tough duty, I know,” Santorum is seen saying near the end of the commercial. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
