MSNBC's Thomas Roberts To Be Honored By GLAAD

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts will be honored at the 26^th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Roberts will receive GLAAD's Vito Russo Award in New York City on Saturday, May 9.

The award honors an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference promoting LGBT rights.

“Quite a HUGE HONOR!” Roberts posted on Facebook. “WOW!”

GLAAD CEO and president Sarah Kate Ellis said that Roberts had rightfully earned the award.

“Thomas Roberts isn't afraid to put a spotlight on injustices faced by LGBT people that all too often go unreported. As a journalist and anchor with a widespread audience, he brings stories to national attention, leading the conversation and accelerating acceptance of the LGBT community.”

Previous award recipients include actor George Takei, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, singer Ricky Martin and money guru Suze Orman.
