Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor on Friday announced that Queen will be heading out on a European tour with Adam Lambert.

American Idol alum Lambert fronted the band in a just finished tour of North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

“We've just had one of the best tours we've ever done,” drummer Roger Taylor said during an appearance on BBC Radio 2's The Chris Evans Breakfast Show. “And we're just back. And we had such an incredible time, and we got this amazing singer, and it's a good show. We thought we'd carry on and do Europe and UK.”

“We have Mr. Adam Lambert, who is incredible,” guitarist Brian May said. “He … ticks [all] the boxes. But more than that, he's not trying to be Freddie [Mercury]. … An extraordinary singer with extraordinary range.”

May continued: “He connects with the people. It takes about three songs for everyone who has any doubts to go, 'Yeah! Okay. This is cool.'”
