A follow-up film on the life of Chaz
Bono is set to premiere next month on Oprah Winfrey's OWN television
network.
Being Chaz will premiere on
Sunday, November 27 at 8PM ET/PT.
The documentary is a follow-up to last
year's Emmy Award-nominated Becoming Chaz, which also had its
television premiere on OWN after a successful film festival circuit
run. OWN will also broadcast an encore showing of Becoming Chaz
immediately before the new film.
While Becoming Chaz focused on
the actor-activist's gender reassignment, Being Chaz looks at
his long-term relationship with girlfriend Jennifer Elia as they
share their lives post Chaz's transition and the controversy that
surrounded his decision to compete on ABC's Dancing with the
Stars.
Both films were executive produced by
Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.
Immediately following the premiere of
Being Chaz, OWN will broadcast the documentary I Am Jazz: A
Family in Transition, which follows the life of 11-year-old Jazz,
a transgender girl, and her family as they cope with the onset of
puberty.
