Two-time Olympian Johnny Weir has
launched a new line of makeup for MAC Cosmetics, joining pop singer
Lady Gaga who launched her line of lipstick with MAC in February.
The 27-year-old Weir announced his
upcoming collection, appropriately named Glitter and Ice, in
June.
During an interview with Orlando,
Florida NBC affiliate WESH,
Weir said he was excited to be the new face of MAC.
“I think it's only three men that
have ever been the face of MAC – Elton John, RuPaul and now me,”
Weir said.
“This line is about having fun, it's
about holiday, and, of course, lots of sparkle with Johnny here,”
MAC makeup artist Romero Jennings said.
Weir explained that promotional images
for the line were shot in London. In the images, Weir is seen inside
a snow globe surrounded by plenty of glitter and ice.
“I kicked my legs up and I was
ready,” Weir said of being invited to participate.
“A dust cloud was behind me because I
was running to wherever I could be to do this photo shoot and to do …
you know just be a part of the MAC family,” he added.
