Actor Taylor Lautner has said that
director Gus Van Sant and writer Dustin Lance Black, the team behind
the Oscar-winning film Milk, would not hit on him because they
know he's straight.
The 19-year-old star of The Twilight
Saga film series made his remarks during a cover interview for
the Australian edition of men's fashion glossy GQ.
GQ
notes that Lautner was paid $7.5 million to appear opposite co-star
Lily Collins in the action thriller film Abduction, making him
the highest paid teenager in Hollywood, and is slated to earn $10
million for the time-travel film Incarceron.
When Lautner is asked whether Van Sant
and Black made a pass at him during a recent dinner, he answers: “No,
definitely not. I think they know I'm straight. But they're great
guys. They're a lot of fun. It's not a coincidence that there was a
writer, a director and an actor at dinner.”
Gay glossy The
Advocate asked whether the question was homophobic: “Would
GQ have asked Lautner the same question if he'd dined with two
older straight women?”
