Singer Ke$ha has designed a t-shirt to
support the work of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's
largest gay rights group.
Ke$ha's t-shirt celebrates National
Coming Out Day, which encourages closeted gay men and lesbians to
tell a friend, co-worker or relative about their sexual orientation
on October 11.
The t-shirt features a purple
monochrome zebra against a black background with the words “We R
Who We R,” a reference to Ke$ha hit single.
“Much like a zebra doesn't change its
stripes, we hope people of all walks of life, LGBT and straight
allies, celebrate themselves and their unique contributions to the
fight for equality,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese.
The t-shirt, designed exclusively for
the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is available online at the HRC shop
(www.shop.hrc.org) and HRC
retail outlets in Provincetown, Palm Springs, San Francisco, and
Washington D.C. It costs $35.
A Marc Jacobs-designed t-shirt which
features a lesbian couple and their child along with the caption, “I
pay my taxes, I want my RIGHTS!” is also for sale.
