Computer giant Dell played host on
Friday to a Human Rights Campaign (HRC) presentation on gay rights in
the workplace.
The presentation was part of an Austin,
Texas stop of HRC's On the Road to Equality bus trip. The nationwide
tour kicked off from Salt Lake City last month. Along its 11 state
route, the tour will make stops in 17 cities before arriving at its
Orlando, Florida destination next month.
According to an HRC
blog post on the event, which took place near the University of
Texas Austin Campus where the group had parked its bus, 50 LGBT
leaders from Austin's corporate community attended the luncheon.
HRC VP of Communications Fred Sainz
“took the group through an informative presentation examining the
tipping point at which the LGBT community is currently positioned.
By examining markers including access to healthcare, family
protections, and workplace fairness, it was made clear that LGBT
Americans are moving closer to achieving full equality,” HRC wrote.
On Monday, the bus will roll into
College Station, Texas, where HRC
will host a panel discussion at Texas A&M University.
AthleteAlly.org founder Hudson Taylor will join the discussion on the
climate for LGBT people on college campuses.
