Actors Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman
have joined the cast of the upcoming comedy film Gay Dude,
Variety
reported.
Mullally and Offerman, who are married
in real life, play ex-spouses on NBC's Parks and Recreation.
Mullally is best known for playing
sassy best friend Karen Walker on NBC's long-running sitcom Will &
Grace.
Comedian Hunter Cope will star in the
comedy about best friends Matty and Michael (played by Nicholas
Braun) who pledge to help each other lose their virginity before the
end of their high school senior year. The twist in this comedy is
that Matty comes out gay.
Offerman will play Michael's father,
while Mullally will take on the role of Matty's mother.
The film also includes Gary Cole (soon
to be seen in TNT's Ricochet) as Matty's conservative father
and Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) as his annoying older
brother, who still lives at home.
Leading man Cope is a steady
contributor to Funny or Die. He also co-founded the LAWV Chillers, a
comedy troupe which has performed in various festivals.
