Michele Bachmann and her husband,
Marcus Bachmann, on Sunday attended an anti-gay service near Des
Moines given by Pastor Jeff Mullen, NBC
News reported.
The service given at the
non-denomination Point of Grace Church included Mullen calling being
gay “immoral” and “unnatural.”
“God shows his anger from heaven
against all sinful, wicked people, who suppress the truth by their
wickedness,” Mullen reportedly said, reading from the book of
Romans.
Mullen's 30-minute sermon included a
2010 video from Adam Hood, who claims he altered his sexuality after
finding God.
“Homosexuality is an abomination,”
Hood, wearing a glittery ascot, said in the video. “It's a sin
that God will damn. If they stay in that sin they will be damned to
hell and rightly so, because they need to be quarantined, because
they'll continue in their rebellion and they'll try to bring that
gangrene into heaven. God's not having it, okay.” (The video is
embedded in the right panel of this page.)
In
another video available on YouTube, Hood explains that the San
Francisco gay scene includes people into witchcraft and satanism.
“I came from being the most
extravagant homosexual, drug [addict] – I was on ecstasy, GHB,
Special K, all the drugs you can imagine – and I had one of the
best looking boyfriends in the Castro and I was celebrated. I had it
all. I had it made in the shade. To becoming such a hard core,
on-fire Christian.”
Bachmann has previously attended Point
of Grace Church.
