Naya Rivera will graduate off Glee
along with Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith.
Rivera plays closeted lesbian Santana
Lopez on the Tuesday night Fox musical-comedy.
The characters played by all four
actors are seniors and producers of the show have said they'll
graduate from William McKinley High at the end of season three.
“I'm a senior. I guess that means
I'm graduating. That's what happens when you're a senior! I don't
think it's a thing,” Rivera
told E! Online at a TCA party for the network on Friday. “It's
like, what is it when you're in high school? You're a senior, you
graduate. Yes, I'm graduating this year.”
Rivera called leaving Glee
“bittersweet.”
“It will always be bittersweet
because this is like our baby and we've been with it since the
beginning and it's always sad. It's literally like the feeling of
being in high school. It's bittersweet, but it happens. That's what
you do. I've had a great run and hopefully it continues.”
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has
previously said he's considered a spin-off for the actors who will be
leaving the show.
