In a new PSA, MYA, Larry King, David
Hasselhoff, Sara Bareilles, Trina, Tommy Joe Ratliff, Bret Lockett
and Verne Troyer urge President Barack Obama to endorse gay marriage.
“You, like many Americans, have
struggled with the idea of equal marriage rights,” King, the former
host of CNN's Larry King Live, says.
“But what about the struggles gay and
lesbian couples face without the freedom to marry,” MYA adds.
“Please Mr. President, support the
Freedom to Marry,” King concludes. (The video is embedded in the
right panel of this page.)
The 60-second video was produced by gay
marriage group NOH8 Campaign for Freedom to Marry's Say I Do
campaign, which
launched in March.
“This NOH8 PSA brings together
talented musicians, athletes and journalists to get the message
across – it's time for the president to end his journey, join the
majority of Americans, and speak out in support of the freedom to
marry for all loving, committed couples,” Marc Solomon, national
campaign director for Freedom to Marry, said in a statement. “Now
is the time for President Obama to say it loud and clear: 'I do.'”
